If you are into technology and are always interested in learning more about the latest gadgets, happenings and updates in the tech world, a good technology blog will probably be exactly what you need to stay connected. However, not just any technology blog will do, there are some important things that you should look for when scouting out blogs. We’ll discuss what some of those are below.
a. Consistently Updated: A good technology blog is updated consistently and generally on some type of schedule. If you are seriously into technology, this will improve the likelihood that you won’t miss out on any big announcements or happenings. The top tech blogs will provide updates every week, sometimes even everyday. The prolific ones may even write several blog posts in a single day. Whatever, you’re looking for in terms of activity you will be able to find it. Just look around.
b. Accurate: This probably goes without saying, but it is important that whatever technology blog you follow provides accurate information. If you consistently find things written that are not true, that are far fetched or outlandish, you may not want to spend much time there. You will end up being uninformed and may sound a bit silly when trying to talk to your friends and family about the latest “space gadget” you heard about on your favorite blog.
c. Well Written: Good or at least decent writing is a must. Legibility is crucial. The English (or whatever language you speak) doesn’t have to be perfect but you should be able to understand what is written.
d. Humorous: Now, this one isn’t a sticking point unless of course, you enjoy and appreciate humor in your reading. There are some really great technology blogs that are written in a humorous way. There are also some which are not, but are still excellent blogs. It really comes down to a matter of choice and stylistic preference.
Another option is to find a great Technology news magazine. There are many online Technology news magazines, or ezines, which are also fantastic way to keep abreast or catch up on what’s happening in the world of technology.
Once you find a great resource, be sure to bookmark it. If you rely on Google, Yahoo or whatever search engine you frequent, you may find that one day, your favorite site is not listed anymore. To ensure that you are able to find the internet-based magazine, bookmark or write down the address. This way, you will always be able to access it, as long as it’s in existence.
