These are related to poor and unhealthy sanitation as well as polluted environment. Water borne diseases are still a serious concern especially in squatter or thickly populated areas. They are hazardous because they can contaminate water sources that people use and are more prevalent during the time of rainy season in tropical countries. These diseases are caused by pathogenic organisms which are directly transmitted when contaminated fresh or drinking water is consumed. When infected it may lead to serious health problems caused by protozoa, viruses, or bacteria, many of which are intestinal parasite. Drinking contaminated water may lead to bacterial infection like diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, or typhoid. Other possible forms of sickness that can be transmitted are protozoal infection (ameobiasis), parasitic infection (hyatidosis), and viral infections like hepatitis A. Despite all, you can avoid all the above diseases by maintaining proper hygiene and to be careful about quality of the water to drink.
